Adoptions are conducted during the following business hours:
Monday & Friday: 10 AM - 3:30 PM
Tuesday & Thursday: 10 AM - 5:30 PM
Saturday: 10 AM - 2:30 PM
While the shelter usually closes at 4 PM, we have extended those hours on Tuesday and Thursday to 5:30 for adoptions, owner reclaims, and citizen's statements. Pets that are up for adoption will generally go home the same day with their new families. As all of our adoptions are done on a first-come-first-served basis, we cannot hold any pets for potential adopters. Animals will remain available for the first family to meet them and complete paperwork at our shelter.
Please contact our shelter staff at 850-767-3333 for any questions about our pets!
Owners within Bay County who are no longer able to care for their pets will need to contact the Bay County Animal Control Shelter to schedule an appointment to surrender their pets. These appointments allow us to ensure that the persons and animals involved have a safe and successful experience.
Citizens who locate strays within the county are welcome to bring in the animals during our stray time each day. The shelter has set aside a certain time each day to dedicate to the intake of strays found by county citizens. This allows us to ensure the greatest success in bringing them into our care and hopefully reuniting them with their families.
Stray drop-off times are:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 1:15 PM - 3:00 PM.
