On Jan. 10, the Bay County Long-term Disaster Recovery Task Force met to lay the groundwork for the creation of an action plan that will guide our long-term recovery efforts. The group will meet twice monthly, on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, at the Bay County Government Center, located at 840 W. 11th St., Panama City. The public is invited to attend.
The Long-Term Disaster Recovery Task Force is made up of representatives from the county commission, all seven municipalities, and the school board. Priorities of the task force include housing, public works, education, economic development, planning, and tourism. Sub-committees are being formed for each of the priority areas, and the public is invited to attend meetings and participate in the work of the committees.
The Jan. 10 meeting was facilitated by consulting group The Integrity Group. A copy of their presentation is available below.
